Physical Education at Grove Street
At Grove Street we believe that PE provides the opportunity for all children to develop their own physical competence, lifting personal confidence and self -esteem. Each child is encouraged to participate in high quality PE lessons providing a wide range of physical experiences.
What do we do?
Develop innovative resources, training, professional development modules and programmes to support young people in PE and sport.
Deliver high quality events, programmes, activities, camps and experiences for young people and their wider support base such as parents and carers, teachers and coaches.
Disrupt and challenge convention where there are opportunities to improve the provision, quality or approach of using sport, PE and physical activity to improve young people’s lives.
The aim of PE is to provide stimulating, enjoyable and appropriately challenging learning experiences. To support excellence in PE through promoting healthy lifestyles, engaging in competitive activities and developing the determination to excel in a range of activities.
We know that the world in which our children operate has changed considerably in recent years. We are facing new challenges as children’s lives are being transformed by technology. An alarming trend of recent times has been the continued decline in children’s wellbeing and tackling this will be at the core of everything we do through PE at Grove Street. We passionately believe that a world where every young person has the opportunity to play, have a healthy mind and be active is a better one.
Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit for their lessons.
