Supporting Reading at Home

Please make sure your child’s book bag is in school every day. Their reading book will be changed on their specific reading day but will be changed more than once a week when possible.

Please remember that your child can be encouraged to read everywhere! Ask them to help you to read the shopping list, a favourite recipe or even a bedtime story to a younger sibling.

Feel free to log your favourite stories from home in your child’s reading log book. It all helps your child to learn to read and we would love to hear which stories they are enjoying.

A selection of games to support your child’s literacy skills

A picture match game to support phonics skills

Share stories, songs and games together at home

Develop an enjoyment of stories and books by sharing a story online
