We understand that children are individuals and develop and learn at different rates, we use the characteristics of effective teaching and learning to guide good practice when planning for learning opportunities.
Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning | ||
Playing and exploring | Active learning | Creating and thinking critically |
- Children investigate and experience things and 'have a go'. | - Children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties, and enjoy achievements |
- Children have and develop their own ideas, make links between ideas, and develop strategies for doing things |
We are passionate in ensuring that teaching and learning takes place both indoors and outdoors. Children take the lead on their own learning and highly skilled staff are able to model, scaffold and extend learning opportunities.
