The Club

We look at each child as an individual and sometimes they face challenges that can impact their ability to access learning to their full potential. As a result, we have created bases in school to support children's specific needs.

We are lucky enough to have areas in school that support children with higher levels of need who may struggle to access the mainstream classroom full-time.

The Club

This provision is based in The Bungalow and is designed

to support children in developing their skills in emotional-regulation, resilience and building and maintaining friendships. Overseen by the SENCo, the children follow individualised programmes of study to support their reading, writing, phonics and maths. These are carefully monitored by our English, Maths and Read Write Inc leads. Daily access to whole-class activities in the mainstream classroom ensures that the children maintain those links and relationships with their class teacher and peers.

Daily access to physical activity, sensory based resources and discovery tasks supports the children's specific, individual needs allowing them vital opportunities to engage in a wide range of learning. By following a creative curriculum alongside a strong focus on self-regulation and mental health and well-being and with a high level of adult suppoort, the children are provided with every opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.

The Club is not intended to be long term provision for children, we are supporting their additional needs with the aim of returning full time to mainstream class or to support their transition to specialist provision.

UPDATE July 2022

What a year the children have had! We are so proud of them, the progress they've made is phenomenal! The hard word and dedication of staff and their families has led to our children now being able to engage in their learning in the mainstream classroom, with the support of the bungalow team. The children still benefit from emotional regulation interventions and support in the familiar surroundings of the bungalow club. Each child continues to progress on their own individual journey.

UPDATE September 2022

The children who were accessing The Club last academic year are now back in their classrooms full time!!! They have settled so well into the new school year and are engaging in all areas of the curriculum. There are always staff on hand to support the children, Miss McCann and Miss Gibson are always there with a smile and a helping hand. Resilience and emotional regulation support continues to be provided to ensure that the skills the children have already learnt continue to be embedded.
